WebJun 1, 2024 · Given the connection between stress and well-being, as well as stress and performance, the focus of the current study was to more completely and directly assess prevalence of stress and specific stressors experienced by collegiate student-athletes in the United States. WebStudent-athletes received more information on stress reduction, substance abuse, eating disorders, and handling distress/violence than non-athletes. Both groups received information more frequently over time. Athletes reported lower academic impacts, especially for depression and anxiety, but impacts grew over time in both groups.
