Their traditional territory is situated along with the Douglas Channel Region and includes the Kitlope Valley. The community has a population of 1,987 members, with 617 living on reserve. The G'psgolox totem pole is attached with a legend. It is told that, in 1872, a smallpox epidemic infected the people the Haisla Nation (located in the north of what we now call British Columbia), killing the vast majority of inhabitants.
